IT & Computing
The latest census shows that 1.7 million IT jobs have been created in the last 10 years, in particular in the financial sector, although there has been considerable growth in Information Communication Technology (ICT) across all Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs). There is evidence that those SMEs that take up ICT prove to be more profitable in the long term and have more stable growth.
The College’s Computing and IT Department has four computer rooms available to students, each contains a suite of twenty networked PCs with Internet access and industry standard software. The packages available to students include Microsoft Office, Visual Studio, Borland Delphi and JBuilder, Macromedia Dreamweaver and Flash MX, and much more. All full time lecturers are fully qualified teachers who keep up-to-date with advances in technology. Experienced visiting lecturers are used to deliver skills in specialist areas.
