  1. Alzheimer's Society West Kent
    West Kent College have been working with the Alzheimer's Society West Kent to standardise their volunteers to have a recognised Level of Care.

  2. Health and Social Care Exhibition June 2009
    The College’s ‘Redundancy Rescue’ project came to the fore at the annual Health and Social Care Exhibition which takes place at the County Showground at Detling.

    Many people whom Leah Buckingham-Warner and Phoebe Allen (pictured) spoke to during the day had recently been made redundant and were looking for ways to retrain, develop or change career direction. Through this project the College are able to provide advice and guidance during this period of uncertainty.
  3. Business to Business Exhibition June 2009
    Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce hold an annual Business to Business Exhibition which this year took place at the Ashford International Hotel. As enthusiastic members and supporters of the work of the Chamber, West Kent College are always delighted to attend.

  4. Medway NHS Conference
    Sam Clark and Claire Young Sam Clark Learning and Development Facilitator, has worked closely with BDU to deliver training to various staff throughout the NHS.  Sam arranged the day and the conference was for staff in bands 1-4 to explore training possibilities and to encourage them to train.

    Group of learnersKent Police is now one of West Kent College’s newest clients after eight months of preparation; their induction morning took place on 30th January 2009.

  6. West Kent College Build Strong Working Relationship
    Natalie Day and Jane LilleyWest Kent College have been providing quality NVQ training in Care for Town and Country Homecare employees for the last couple of years. The staff at the care home have been very impressed by the work of the Assessors and the professionalism of the College.

  7. Coaching– but not as we know it!
    man and woman smilingCerebral Palsy Care Kent (CPC) have used West Kent College for NVQ’s in Health and Social Care at levels 2 and 3 for some time now. Nick Wareham, a WKC Business Development Sales Executive, has recently signed up another 15 new learners.  It is a sad fact that 1 in 400 children are born with Cerebral Palsy and there is no cure.

  8. Catering Delights
    two men in kitchenEden Food Service is one of West Kent College’s largest clients, offering their employees NVQ Catering courses. They provide catering services to Murstan Infant School, Sittingbourne and many other schools throughout Kent.
    The food company choose to enrol their employees with West Kent College because the College recognises the need for training and assessing in the workplace. They also were impressed with the Assessors’ professionalism and excellent teaching standards.

  10. A job match made in College
    man in workshopConnexions Kent and West Kent College have formed a unique alliance aimed at matching college students with employers looking to take on young Apprentices. The Tonbridge-based College’s dedicated Apprenticeship Team has built up a relationship with Connexions’ Employer Liaison Consultant (ELC) Alison Mannell, who is the link to local employers.

  11. West Kent College coming to the Rescue!
    women smilingFor the past two years West Kent College has worked with Kent Fire and Rescue Service delivering various NVQs, such as Management and ITQ. Jane Silve, ITQ Co-ordinator at West Kent College, says “we have built up a robust
    relationship that has seen some 100 individual learners enrolled onto the ITQ. Notwithstanding one or two problems along the way we are beginning to see the fruits of all that hard work. Fire Service personnel, including whole watches at the Channel Tunnel and support staff like the cook at Maidstone fire station, have completed their course successfully.”

  12. Engagement with the Creative Businesses of Kent
