The hair design team is dedicated to training students to the highest professional standard. Superb professional salon facilities and a large client base provide assessment opportunities in a commercial salon environment.

The hairdressing profession requires a genuine interest in people and a caring, sensitive nature with excellent communication skills, combined with good technical skills and a professional attitude. During your course you will have the chance to attend manufacturers' workshops and trips to salon exhibitions. In addition to your main qualification, other enrichment qualifications are offered.

Why?
I’ve always wanted to do a creative job plus as a hairdresser, you get to make people feel good about themselves.

What aspect of the course have you particularly enjoyed?
I love doing colour and might specialise in it.

What ambitions will your course help you to fulfil?
I’m going on to do my Level 2 next year and eventually I’d like to be involved in styling for television or music videos – especially if it involves travel.

How would you describe yourself?
I’m outgoing and love singing. Although I’ve toned down my hairstyles these days I’m still a dedicated rock chick!
