Our courses provide you with the chance to enter many exciting areas of work.

You will be taught by staff that have up-to-date expertise in the health and social care sector and you will have the opportunity to study, or re-take GCSEs, First Aid and Basic Food Hygiene. To complement your academic studying, work experience is a crucial element of the course. You are likely to visit childcare, elderly and healthcare settings, this also gives the opportunity to get good references for employers or universities.

Why did you choose West Kent College?
I didn’t like the restrictions of school and wanted to be more independent.

What course did you choose?
BTEC Health & Social Care

Why?
The course links with psychology, which I would like to study to degree level.

What aspect of the course have you particularly enjoyed?
Safety in action and I really enjoyed teaching blind children at Dorton House.

What ambitions will your course help you to fulfil?
I’d like to do a degree in Psychology and then be a Police Investigator
