Performing Arts : Musical Theatre

The Level 3 National Diploma courses provide students with specialised training in their chosen areas ( Acting, Dance, Musical Theatre or Production) building upon and developing new skills. Each course provides students with two public productions each year and various site-specific stagings. Our National Diploma in Production focuses on the technical aspects of theatre production. Students support many of the other courses in the delivery of at least 12 theatre-based shows each year and gain specialised training in Sound, Lighting, Set Design and Stage Management.

These courses enhance progression opportunities into employment or Higher Education including our Foundation Degree in Acting or Dance.

in my words...

Why did you choose West Kent College?
West Kent is linked to Greenwich University, which means I can stay at West Kent College to study on the Foundation Degree in Performing Arts.

What course did you choose?
BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts

Why?
I would love to be a theatre actress and this seemed the perfect beginning.

What aspect of the course have you particularly enjoyed?
Putting on productions such as Macbeth, which we performed at Tonbridge Castle. We edited and modernised the script, organised the whole production and I played the role of Lady Macbeth – a real bonus!

What is the best thing about studying at West Kent College?
It might sound a bit creepy but the teachers are great – really knowledgeable and personable too.
