You can choose from a comprehensive range of BTEC qualifications, from a full time National Diploma with potential to gain up to 360 UCAS points down to a single subject National Award which can be combined with two or three A Level subjects to form a flexible full time course. We also offer GCSEs in Science and Maths to give full-time students the opportunity to take or re-sit these important subjects.

You will have access to well-resourced computer suites and laboratories equipped with sophisticated instrumentation and resources centres and other workshop facilities - all designed to add enrichment to your studies. You will have your classroom-based studies complemented by practical laboratory sessions and fieldwork and you may have the opportunity to gain work experience linked to your career aspirations or special area of interest.

Why did you choose West Kent College?
As I am new to the country, I asked around and West Kent College was recommended.

So where are you from originally?
Originally New Zealand but I have also lived in Hong Kong and travelled the Far East.

What course did you choose?
BTEC National Diploma in Applied Science.

Why? I’d like to be a forensic scientist one day.

What aspect of the course have you particularly enjoyed?I really enjoyed criminology and looking at case studies which taught us how forensic science has solved major crimes.

How will it help you fulfil your career ambition? It has helped me decide on a final career path and I’d like to go on and take a vocational degree.
